Residents were in for a rude awakening after a Porsche Carrera smashed through metal railings in London's fashionable West End.
The £70,000 car spun out of control close to the Lancaster Gate area and collided with the barriers outside an expensive town house. Whilst no-one was injured, the car and railings were completely written-off.
Metropolitan Police arrested two people in connection with the incident on suspicion of drink driving. It comes shortly after an intoxicated motorist smashed through security bollards outside a bowling alley in Bolton and careered through the front entrance narrowly missing employees.
Daniel Renz, London chauffeur, told the Daily Mail: "I was on board with a passenger at just past midnight and saw the Porsche crashed into the side of a building. There was broken glass and fuel from behind the vehicle was spilling out. It was lucky it was a Porsche because the engine is in the back."
