To replace the existing fencing and gates that had fallen into disrepair and were unsafe, our EuroGuard^® Extra v mesh security fencing solution was chosen. One of our Approved Installers who also installs steel fencing, 1st Aid 4 Fencing, was employed to carry out the works.

EuroGuard Extra is a strong profiled v mesh fencing system consisting of 5mm (wire measured prior coating) wire mesh panels with a mesh pattern of 200 x 30mm. The mesh is then securely fixed to steel posts, with unique panel-to-post clips and tamper-proof fixings on the secure side of the fence. Most v mesh fences on the market have a mesh aperture of 200 x 50mm with a thin 4mm wire thickness measured after coating, and this can be prone to bending under any kind of impact.

EuroGuard Extra is ideal for schools, and can be particularly beneficial for additional needs schools to keep students safely within the school premises and prevent unauthorised access, it will also stand up well to pupils hitting it with bags or the odd stray football hitting it. Featuring an effective anti-climb design thanks to its smaller apertures, it prevents even small hand and footholds while keeping the classic V mesh appearance. In addition, its rigid mesh construction is highly durable and impact-resistant, which is ideal for schools where students may sometimes engage physically with their surroundings.

Visibility is also key; v mesh fencing allows for clear views for teachers and staff to supervise students while also monitoring the boundary for any hazards. The high visibility design also provides a safe boundary without creating a ‘closed-in’ feel, which can help reduce stress and anxiety for some students. It allows for visibility of the environment beyond the fence, which can feel less confining. Natural light and airflow are not blocked, making the school grounds feel welcoming.
