Offering 24-hour services, haulage company depots and related storage warehouses have the potential to create noise at all hours, risking disturbing communities and nearby residents. Light pollution is also produced from these facilities and can cause concerns.

We provided a comprehensive sound reduction barrier and security fencing solution for the logistics company to combat challenges related to both environmental noise and site security. The project involved the installation of a 3.5m high, 141.5 metre long absorptive sound reduction barrier, which was strategically placed to address noise concerns from the company's operations.
The absorptive acoustic barrier was designed not only to reduce the noise levels generated by the haulage activities, but also to ensure that the company remained compliant with local environmental regulations. By absorbing sound waves from the storage warehouse, the acoustic barrier significantly mitigated the impact of noise on nearby residential and commercial areas, thereby reducing the risk of noise complaints and enhancing the company's relationship with the surrounding community.
Given its proximity to a busy road, the sound reduction barrier was UKCA marked as a whole system, ensuring it met the stringent safety and performance standards required for installations near public highways. The UKCA marking also provided assurance that the barrier would perform reliably under the conditions expected at the site, including exposure to road traffic vibrations and environmental factors.
In addition to noise reduction, the 3.5 metre height of the sound reduction barrier served as a robust security fence, providing a strong physical deterrent against unauthorised access via climbing or penetrating through the barrier, and protecting assets from potential theft or vandalism. Moreover, the solid construction provides excellent privacy and concealment, removing the temptation for potential thieves to target the site opportunistically or in a planned attack. This dual-function barrier effectively addressed the haulage company's needs for both noise control and security, offering a durable and compliant solution that enhances the overall safety and operational efficiency of the site.
