Background
The Kingdom Hall is the name given to places of worship for Jehovah’s Witnesses. According to Watchtower, the research tool produced by Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Kingdom Hall should be held in high esteem and kept clean and in good condition. Many Kingdom Halls are used by more than one congregation, particularly in urban areas, and each is responsible for maintaining its appearance, but the building should not be elaborate or made to impress others. Any renovation works are generally funded through donations, with the congregations considering it a privilege to support the Kingdom Hall financially.
The Kingdom Hall for Jehovah's Witnesses in Hoddesdon embarked on a project to improve the safety and aesthetic appeal of its premises. Recognising the importance of creating a secure yet welcoming environment for congregation members and visitors, the decision was made to install vertical bar railings, polyester powder coated black, along the perimeter of the building.
Safety and security were paramount concerns for the Kingdom Hall. With the aim of preventing unauthorised access, vandalism and theft, and ensuring the protection of individuals within the premises, the installation of vertical bar railings was deemed essential. Additionally, the aesthetic enhancement of the building's exterior was a key consideration. The choice of polyester powder-coated black railings was driven by the desire to harmonise with the existing brick façade, adding a touch of sophistication to the overall appearance.
Solution
The project commenced with a thorough assessment of the site to determine specific requirements and challenges. Design customisation played a crucial role in ensuring that the railings seamlessly integrated with the historic railings and existing brick wall at the Kingdom Hall, while meeting safety standards. A black polyester powder coating was selected as the ideal finish for the roadside railings due to its durability, weather resistance, and low maintenance properties, and to match the previous installation. The installation was carried out by our experienced gangs, who meticulously anchored the Barbican Imperial vertical bar railings to the brick wall surrounding the Kingdom Hall, on cranked posts.
