Solution

We installed 117 metres of 2.4m high Euroguard® Regular demarcation fencing around the perimeter of the field, which, combined with the natural foliage of trees and bushes, also manages to prevent the public from seeing the field during use for added privacy. This particular type of fencing has an anti-climb design, so the area is secured until the gates are unlocked. The ‘V’ shaped profile reinforces the strength of the panels, while the panel to post fixing is vandal-proof.

The installation included matching double leaf manual gates with 180° opening hinges, to provide access for maintenance and emergency vehicles, and also to ensure that large groups of people can enter and exit safely without being forced into single file.

With the project now complete, the pupils can enjoy break times and sports days in a safe and clean environment, and staff members can fully dedicate their time to teaching and providing care for their pupils without added concerns. The field is also shared with Drapers Mill Primary Academy, so this added security will serve to protect hundreds of other children during playtime and P.E. For the school's caretakers, the new fencing and gates mean they have more time to concentrate on maintaining the main school site.

Within the main campus, we installed Playtime® Timber Fencing around the school playground, to provide a safe and secure area for play - it also serves as a gathering area to be picked up from at the end of the day. With its low height and attractive design, Playtime® fencing creates boundaries without making people feel trapped or secluded, and its RoSPA approved anti-trap design make it perfect for pre-schools, junior schools and play areas. The smooth finish of the timber minimises risk of splinters, while the sturdy construction and the Jakcure timber treatment ensures a long, trouble-free service life. The matching Playtime® gates can be specified for self-closing operation, so the gates shut even in the case of forgetfulness, which is essential when making sure children stay away from potential dangers such as busy roads or school car parks.
